The Psalmist determines to speak of God’s righteousness even in the midst of troubles.

What Does It Say?

1. Adversaries oppose him, but the psalmist decides to _________ continually and _________ God more and more.

What Does It Mean?

1. After the psalmist promises to declare God’s righteousness and salvation all the day, he states, “for I know not the numbers thereof” (v.15).  What is he trying to count and why is it so hard for him to count it?
2. In verse 18, the psalmist asks God not to forsake him “until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation.”  In Acts 13:36For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
   See All..., Paul says of David that he “served his own generation by the will of God.”  What do you think these verses are talking about?
3. To quicken means to bring back to life; to raise from the dead.  To what is the psalmist referring when he says, “Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again.”?

What Does It Mean to Me?

1. The psalmist said to God, “thou hast taught me from my youth” (v.17).  Timothy had known the holy scriptures from a child (2Timothy 3:15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
   See All...).  What kind of things should we learn from our youth?  What should we be teaching the young?
2. Speaking to God, this Psalm refers to “thy righteousness” five times (v.2, 15, 16, 19, 24).  What is the significance of God’s righteousness in these passages?  Look at each time and tell what that verse teaches you to do.
