Why We Should Not Pray to Saints

Published Date:
June 6, 2006

On a Catholic website question and answer section we find a defense for praying to saints. The following is an excerpt of the response.

"There is nothing wrong with asking other Christians to pray to God for us - even those who are in Heaven. They are Christians in Heaven and they want to help by praying for and with us. They love us too."

Isn't that sweet. You won't find it in the Bible, but it is sweet. As far as I can remember, the only time you find someone dead being called on for help in the Bible is when Saul called upon Samuel for help and the Bible is plain that this was witchcraft.
