This passage contains laws against women indecently touching men, against false weights and measures, and concerning the future destruction of Amalek.

What Does It Say?

   See All...), so women are not to indecently touch men—even to deliver a husband in a fight.  Under the law, the offending woman was to be punished by having her ________ cut off.
2. Weights and measures were used to buy and sell grain and other things.  Dishonest people would have two sets of weights or measures—a __________ and a _________.  They would buy with one set and sell with the other.
3. Just weights and measures were necessary for the Jews so that their days might be ________________ in the land.

What Does It Mean?

1.  In scripture, an abomination is something that is disgusting and vile—usually to God.  He hates it especially if it is an abomination.  Why do you think that those who keep unjust weights and measures are called an abomination to God (v.16)?  There are many sins.  Why is this one spoken against with such strong language?
2. The nation of Amalek is condemned above the other nations.  Amalek is to be remembered (v.17) and blotted out of remembrance from under heaven (v.19).  Read verse 18 and explain why Amalek was more hated than other nations.
3. We know that God is always just. How can He justly command the destruction of an entire nation (v.19)?

What Does It Mean to Me?

1. Most of us do not carry around weights and measures today, so we cannot sin in having divers (diverse or different) weights by which we cheat people.  However, we can still disobey the spirit of this commandment.  How do we cheat people today?  What practices should be avoid?
2. Amalek attacked those Israelites in the wilderness who fell behind, those who were feeble, and those who were faint and weary.  It has been pointed out by Bible students how that Amalek is a picture of the flesh and how the flesh tries to keep us from serving God.  What similarities can you see between Amalek and the flesh?
