Round About the Throne
In Revelation 5:8-9 [8] And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
[9] And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
See All..., after the Lamb (Jesus Christ) has taken the book that could not be opened by any other, the four beasts and twenty-four elders fall down before Him and sing a new song. The four beasts in Revelation match the four living creatures of Ezekiel chapter one and the four cherubim of Ezekiel chapter ten. These four are at the four corners of the throne of God (Ezekiel 10:9And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.
See All...). Though I cannot specifically identify the 24 elders of Revelation, they are also found "round about the throne" (Revelation 4:4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
See All...). If they also stood at the four corners of the throne, there would be six of them at each corner. Six elders and one beast at each corner would make seven heavenly beings at each corner of the throne of God in heaven singing praise unto Him. Seven is God's perfect number of completion. What a wonderful picture!
