Hunters and fishers are treated differently in the Bible. The first hunter in scripture is Nimrod, the "mighty hunter before the LORD' (Genesis 10:9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
See All...). He is definitely a type of the antichrist. The next hunter is Esau, "a cunning hunter, man of the field" (Genesis 25:27And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
See All...). Esau is the man who "found not place of repentance" (Hebrews 12:17For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Fishers, on the other hand, have good press in the Bible. Many of the disciples of Christ, including the inner circle of Peter, James, and John, were fishermen by trade. Jesus told them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
See All...). What is the difference? Well, for one thing, the hunter kills the deer, but the fisherman catches the fish. Certainly, the fish is still headed for death and dinner, but the picture is different. Perhaps you can think of other contrasts between hunters and fishermen. I think it would be a profitable study.
