Scripture Passage:
Isaiah 63:1-19 The day of God’s wrath has come and the Lord is coming in vengeance. However, the prophet reminds the Lord of past mercies on His people while he repents of their past sins. He asks the Lord to look down from His holy habitation and reclaim the Israelites as His own.

What Does It Mean?
- Isaiah 63:1-3 [1] Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
[2] Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
[3] I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
See All... states that the Lord is red in His apparel when He comes. Study the passage and tell why His apparel is red. How does this compare with Revelation 19:13-15 [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
See All...? - In verse 12, the Lord led the Israelites by the hand of Moses. Why does this verse say He did it? In verse 14, the Lord led His people. Why does this verse say He led them? What do these verses show us about the workings of God in our lives? How does this compare with Ephesians 1:12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
See All...? - Verse 17 states, “O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear?” What does this mean? How should we understand this verse? How does is compare with Isaiah 6:10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
See All... and John 12:40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

What Does It Mean to Me?
- In verse 7, Isaiah says, “I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD.” What are lovingkindnesses? Why does he mention them at this time in the chapter? What can we learn from this? When and why should we mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord?
- Of the time when the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness, verse 9 states, “In all their affliction he was afflicted.” What is the meaning of this statement? See Judges 10:16And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
See All...; Hebrews 2:18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
See All...; Hebrews 4:15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
See All.... What are some modern and personal applications that we can make from this truth?
