Chapters one through three of Romans dealt with sin while chapters four and five dealt with salvation. Now that the sinner is saved, how is he to live for God? Chapters six through eight of Romans deal with the topic of sanctification. The believing student of this passage will find that amazing provision has been made for a life of holiness and service to God. He will also find that this provision is to be found in his union with Christ.

Solomon had completed the temple his father David had desired to build. Now Solomon prepares the temple for use. The most important act of preparation is to bring the ark into the temple. This is a cause for much sacrifice and praise.

In these verses, Moses blesses the three remaining tribes: Dan, Naphtali, and Aser. Then, he exalts the greatness of God and declares the happiness of Israel as the people of God. This passage is a fitting close to the blessing of Moses the man of God (Deuteronomy 33:1).

This passage deals with the universal problem of sin. Sin is and has been the curse of all mankind. However, because of the offer of eternal life through Jesus Christ, sin has a solution. As this passage says, “where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”

Answer a fool according to his folly, and answer not a fool according to his folly. Is this a contradiction in the Bible?

Who led David to number the people? One place you read that it was God and yet in another place it was Satan. Is this a contradiction in the word of God?

Abram (Abraham) had already received the promise of a land and a nation (Genesis 12:1-3). In fact, God had already shown him the Promised Land (Genesis 13:14-17). In this chapter, God establishes His promise of a seed to Abraham and confirms His promise with a covenant. We know this as the Abrahamic Covenant.

This chapter continues to deal with the fact and experience of justification by faith. However, it also begins to describe some of the results or benefits of salvation. Now that a person is justified by faith, what does this do for him?

Authority for truth is the right to determine what the truth is.

David is in charge. As such, it is a day of forgiveness and mercy (Shimei and Mephibosheth). It is a day of grace and blessing (Barzillai and Chimham).
