The Cycle of Love
Introduction: Love is one of the most misunderstood concepts of our day. We are told that love is an emotion that cares not for the circumstances surrounding it. Love is not supposed to demand anything, nor is it to be biased. However, the Bible deals much with love and the misuse by the multitudes should not drive the Bible-believer away from its practice. In John chapter 15 we find some glorious truths concerning the love of the Father and the love of the Son.
- THE FATHER'S LOVE FOR THE SON (John 15:9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

- The Father’s love of righteousness (Psalm 146:8The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

- At our Lord’s baptism (Matthew 3:16-17 [16] And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
[17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

[2] And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
[3] And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
[4] Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
[5] While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

See All...; Galatians 2:20I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
See All...) - Inseparable Love (Romans 8:35-39 [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
[37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

See All...) - A Token of Our Salvation (1 John 3:14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
See All...) - A Sacrificial Love (1 John 3:16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
See All...) - An Evidence of Our Love for God (1 John 4:20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Conclusion: The glorious doctrine of the Father’s love for the Son, being the love of the Son for the believer is not just for the increase of our joy and knowledge. It is demonstrated so that we might know the extent to which we are to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. How should we love our brethren? Like the Son loves us and like the Father loves the Son.
