Most Christian denominations worship on Sunday except for the Seventh Day Adventist. Which is right?

I was just looking at your website and I don't understand why Christians can write such hateful speech about other Christians who might disagree or struggle to believe their point of view.

While doing a study on the life of the apostle Paul, I began to wonder if he was actually named Saul after the 1st king of Israel. I began to make comparisons between the two and found several things that they had in common. The name Saul means "desired" while the name Paul means "little". It's interesting to think that Paul started off as Saul, or the one to be desired, but when God got a hold of him, he became Paul the little one. Sounds like the words of John the Baptist when he said of Christ, "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

His original name ends in El, the Hebrew name for God. He is the only son of his father. He is sent to earth because men "lack the light to show the way." He is superhuman, but he can also suffer. At one point, he receives a stab wound in the side. He returns from a deathlike absence in order to save the world. Who is this man? It is the Superman of the new movie "Superman Returns." In short, the movie and the storyline of Superman is blasphemous. He is "another Jesus" (2Corinthians 11:4) declaring an "other gospel." Galatians 1:8-9 clearly proclaims, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

According to a study completed by a team of sociologists (as reported in the July 3, 2006, edition of "Time"), people in America are losing friends. From 1985 to 2004, the number of people with whom we can discuss "important matters" has dropped by one-third. That is, if people had three close friends twenty years ago, they only have two today. When considered that this is based on averages, this is a serious drop and it points to a continuing disintegration of the bonds of society. In order to "enjoy" our newfound freedoms, we are splitting up our families and communities. In order to "enjoy" our entertainment, we are immersing ourselves in private video viewing and computer surfing. We are leaving the churches and becoming strangers to our neighbors.

I received the following excellent comments on the earlier blog called Using Biblical Terminology. I often can see points in the different sides of arguments and wanted to give everyone a chance to see another side of this. My thanks to the one who gave this response (I will leave you anonymous): "Brother I greatly enjoy David Cloud's material, but on this issue of asking Jesus into our hearts I think he is making a mountain out of a mole hill. Consider the following verses: Galatians 4:6 - God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts. Ephesians 3:17 - That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. While these verses are not exactly a sinner's prayer, the idea of Jesus in our hearts is in there sufficiently and so I don't understand why Bro Cloud 'blasts' asking Jesus into your heart so adamantly."

An article called "Who's in Charge Here?" in the Summer, 2006, edition of "the Wilson Quarterly" opens with these words: "The 20th century taught us that repressed desires are the source of human unhappiness. Now, with more possibilities for pleasure and fewer rules and constraints than ever before, the happy few will be those able to exercise self-control." The article continues with an excellent assessment of the dangers of modern temptations. One section deals with the removal of restraints. Very little keeps people from doing whatever they desire to do. Among those restraints that are weakened today are stigma (social shame for wrong doing), financial constraints (there is always credit), family (broken families provide little reason to do right), neighbors (they used to watch out for each other), and church (where sin has all but disappeared). But in the Bible, temperance (self-control) is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and "every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things" (1Corinthians 9:25). Where are the Christians who will re-establish the virtue of self-control?

In a great essay on the current path of fundamentalists, the editor of Straightway magazine, Dr. H.T. Spence, makes this greatly enlightening statement : "Though Fundamentalism has endeavored to be strong historically in ecclesiastical separation, one of its great weaknesses from its beginning has been its lack of personal separation." This can be found in the June-July 2005 issue of the magazine in an article entitled "Ask for the Old Paths."

Can the blood of Jesus be rebuked by the Devil?

If Christ can not be divided and he teaches there is only one church and one way, how can we know which church (denomination) is the right one?
