In a long list that began at verse fifteen, the Lord continues to describe the curse that will fall on Israel if they fail to do the commands that He has given them in the law. This chapter has 14 verses of blessing and 54 verses of curses. Though we are not under the law today, we can learn much from this lesson about how much God hates disobedience to His word.

The Lord continues to describe the curses Israel will face if the nation turns from the Lord and from obeying His commandments. Unfortunately, Israel rebelled against the Lord and suffered through the troubles listed in this chapter.

This psalm assures the saints that, though the wicked exalt themselves against them, the Lord will be the final judge of all men. He will promote and He will cast down. We must look to Him and not to man.

This chapter tells of the blessings and cursings that God will pour out on the children of Israel: blessings if they obey His commandments; cursings if they do not. This lesson gives all the blessings but only some of the cursings.

In this vision, Zechariah sees a man measuring the breadth and length of Jerusalem. Though Zion has been scattered, the people are to return to the holy land where God will dwell in the midst of them. He shall choose Jerusalem again.

Moses looks ahead to when the children of Israel are in the Promised Land. They are to write God

The Israelites are instructed to offer the firstfruits of the land of Israel to the Lord and to give the tithe of the third year for the needy. This chapter closes by affirming the special relationship Israel has with God as His peculiar and holy people.

As he continued to prepare for Solomon

This passage contains laws against women indecently touching men, against false weights and measures, and concerning the future destruction of Amalek.

This passage contains laws concerning righteous judgment, the laying of stripes on offenders and the duty of a man to continue the seed of his brother.
